This programme is a joint initiative between Scottish Government and 麻豆社区 to provide social work managers with the skills to supervise their staff underpinned with a trauma informed approach.
Course Details
Developed by 麻豆社区 in partnership with the Office of the Chief Social Work Adviser in the Scottish Government, this course is delivered by the Trauma Responsive Services Team and facilitated by members of Edinburgh Napier Social Work Team.
The course is a 2.5-day learning package. You will attend two full in-person days, followed by two (1.5 hour) online coaching sessions. You will also be required to complete preparatory learning materials (2-hour content).
- Enhance participant understanding of the importance of reflective supervision in supporting frontline social workers
- Enhance supervisory skills of social work line managers
- Improve competence and confidence in the delivery of reflective supervision
- Support high quality practice that improves outcomes for people using services
Further details will be provided on registration. Completion of the pre-learning is essential prior to participating in the two days in-person course.
Assessments
A certificate will be issued to participants following completion of all four sessions (2 full in person days plus 2 virtual coaching sessions).
Who is the course for?
Applicants must be a qualified social worker, working within Scotland and registered with the SSSC.
