Biography

The primary focus of Grant's research is EU and UK competition law. Areas of particular interest include the private enforcement of EU and UK competition law in national courts; jurisdiction in relation to competition law enforcement; specific types of conduct addressed by Articles 101 and 102 TFEU; and the enforcement of EU rules on state aid. Grant is interested in the relationship between competition law and economics and the study of competition law in a comparative context.

Grant has a wide range of teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Amongst the subjects he has taught are the law of obligations, corporate law, international commercial law and competition law. Having practised as a solicitor, he has been heavily involved in the development of practical legal skills amongst law students and has frequently judged at intervarsity competitions in client interviewing, negotiation and mooting.
