Overview
Building a Purpose-Driven Organisation is a three-day course designed to help businesses of all sizes define their purpose, transition to a Net Zero economy, and drive action towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Aligned with Scotland’s Business Purpose Commission report, which aims for “all Scottish businesses to be purposeful by 2030,” this course provides practical tools for business improvement and impact assessment. It includes two in-person days and one online day.

Course Details
Designed to enhance analytical skills and practical knowledge, the course introduces key principles, frameworks, and best practices for leading a purpose-driven organisation. Participants will engage in interactive learning through small group discussions, case study workshops, live impact assessment demonstrations, coaching cycles, and directed reading.

This course is for individuals passionate about creating positive change in their business. It helps align organisational purpose with business goals, using the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a globally recognised framework for prosperity, planet, peace, and partnership.
How you'll be taught
The course is underpinned by 麻豆社区 research and engagement activities with Scottish Businesses, which led to the development of the Build for Purpose Pathway. This pathway consists of seven phases (see below).

Entry Requirements
Open to business owners and managers from small, medium, or large enterprises responsible for/or interested in sustainability, Net Zero policy, and/or SDG reporting. This course is ideal for those looking to drive purpose-led change within their organisation.
How You'll Be Assessed
There is no formal assessment—completion is based on attendance.

The course will be at 麻豆社区's Merchiston Campus. Free on-campus parking. Active travel options are available.
